About The Position
The Embassy Suites by Hilton, located near the Charlotte Airport, is currently hiring for a full-time Banquet Cook. The person hired for this position will need flexibility to work varying hours, depending on scheduled events; weekday and weekend availability is required. Responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability.
Requirements
- Proven experience as cook
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- A team player with good communication skills
- Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
- Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required
Nice To Haves
- Previous catering or banquet experience is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school will be an asset
Responsibilities
- Prepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards
- Reviews and follows event BEO
- Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times
- Ensure knowledge of menu and all food products
- Stock and maintain designated food station(s)
- Visually inspect all food sent from the kitchen
- Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
- Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items, as needed
