About The Position
The hotel's Banquet Captain is accountable for the daily operations of all Banquet/Catering events and space. The Banquet Captain is committed to guest satisfaction and providing a great experience for all guests while embracing the McKibbon Guiding Principles.
Requirements
- 3 years’ minimum experience in a banquet or event role
- The ability to maintain service standards
- The ability and drive to personify our culture in every interaction with guests and associates
- The ability to perform initial and ongoing training of associates
- The ability to deliver on the quality of service that guests deserve and expect
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a supervisor position is a plus
- Experience working at a hotel establishment (highly desired)
- Ability to communicate in a friendly manner with guests.
- The ability to create a fun and supportive working environment
- Keeping up-to-date with local events and tailoring Food and Beverage operations to enhance guests’ experience in the local community.
- A conscientious spirit and the drive to excel in every aspect of your duties.
- The creativity to enhance sales in the lounge and food outlets.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main contact for the Client host of the Banquet/Event, checking-in with them regularly to ensure satisfaction.
- Work with the hotels’ sales team to ensure that all meeting spaces are properly supplied and maintained.
- Assist in maintaining the inventory of the banquet department, including budgeting, food costs, and coding invoices.
- Help to train new hires on all Banquet standards of service and set-ups.
