Advanced Programs – Hot Structures Design Manager

GE Aerospace•Lynn, MA
•$149,500 - $198,950•Onsite

About The Position

The Hot Structures Design Manager will lead a small team of engineers responsible for mechanical design and development of hot structures for a next-generation military product. The position also serves as the integrated product team (IPT) leader, accountable for the overall hot structures design and coordination with adjacent disciplines and modules to deliver a successful design while balancing requirements. The role calls for sound operational judgment and an experienced engineer who enjoys developing people and solving complex design problems collaboratively. The team performs design life-cycle work spanning mechanical design, analysis, manufacturing support, and testing. The manager provides technical guidance, ensures technical data is documented, leads daily management and issue-response planning, and prepares and presents module design reviews to internal and external customers. The manager also reviews component design review presentations and supports direct reports through development opportunities and career guidance. Effective collaboration in person, across geographic sites, and with adjacent organizations is important. The position is based at GE Aerospace’s Lynn facility, which designs, produces, assembles, and tests military and commercial aircraft engines and components. The role requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance; U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite for obtaining one. The position also requires access to U.S. export-controlled information, so employment depends on proving eligible U.S. Person status.
