About The Position

The Hot Plant Laborer performs routine tasks to repair, clean, maintain, wash, and load materials and equipment at a plant site. The role includes housekeeping, inspecting equipment and reporting needed repairs, and carrying out basic maintenance tasks. The position requires following safety guidelines and may include other duties as assigned. Dickerson & Bowen maintains a drug-free workplace and conducts pre-hire drug testing.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent years of experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• On-the-job training is required.
• Ability to follow specific directions.
• Ability to perform a variety of duties that may change and to work within standards of accuracy.
• Ability to repeat short-duration tasks according to a set procedure.
• Ability to evaluate information using measurable standards.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods.
• Ability to use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
• Ability to lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and other objects while carrying tools and equipment.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
• Ability to see naturally or with correction.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily housekeeping at the plant site and in tool rooms.
• Lift, carry, and hold materials, tools, and supplies.
• Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
• Visually inspect equipment and report repairs that are needed.
• Perform routine, non-machine tasks, including repairing material leaks, repairing or replacing belts, preventive maintenance, greasing, and cleaning.
• Follow all safety expectations and guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
