About The Position

The Plant Laborer supports plant operations by maintaining hazardous-waste storage areas and assisting with spill response, cleanup, and housekeeping. The role includes entering cylinders to retrieve wrecked trams and clean cylinder floors, maintaining drip tracks and related areas, and performing repairs as directed by the Treating Supervisor. The position is scheduled for the 2nd shift and requires outdoor work.

Requirements

• Demonstrate an acceptable retention level for required training elements.
• Pass pre-employment medical screening.
• May need medical clearance to wear a respirator.
• Be authorized as a permit confined-space attendant and/or entrant.
• Be trained to handle hazardous waste.
• Be willing to work outdoors.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe the “General Rules for All Employees” at all times.
• Maintain the chemical and temporary hazardous-waste storage area.
• Label and load hazardous-waste shipments.
• Support spill-response activities and assist with cleanup of drippage in the Treated Wood Storage Yard.
• Enter cylinders to retrieve wrecked trams and clean cylinder floors.
• Keep the work area clean and free of debris.
• Clean and help maintain drip tracks, cylinder basements, and concrete areas under storage units using high-pressure washing, detergents, scraping, and/or sweeping.
• Clean catch basins, drain screens, and troughs.
• Remove debris from sumps.
• Perform repair and crack sealing in drip tracks as instructed by the Treating Supervisor.
• Promptly report incidents, injuries, damages, and other Zero Harm issues.
• Perform general housekeeping on the drip pad and in the hazardous-waste storage area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
