About The Position

The Hot Plant Laborer performs a range of routine tasks at the plant, including repairing, cleaning, maintaining, washing, and loading. The role supports plant operations by keeping the plant site and tool rooms orderly, handling materials and supplies, cleaning tools and equipment, inspecting equipment, and carrying out basic maintenance. Employees must follow safety expectations and guidelines. On-the-job training is required. The position requires a valid driver’s license and a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent years of experience. Physical demands include extended periods of standing or walking, handling and carrying materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds, climbing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Other duties may be assigned, and reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent years of experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• On-the-job training is required.
• Ability to follow specific directions.
• Ability to perform varied duties, work within standards of accuracy, repeat short-duration tasks according to set procedures, and evaluate information using measurable standards.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods; use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects; lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds; climb ladders, scaffolds, and other objects while carrying tools and equipment; and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and see naturally or with correction.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily housekeeping at the plant site and in tool rooms.
• Lift, carry, and hold materials, tools, and supplies.
• Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
• Visually inspect equipment and report repairs that are needed.
• Perform routine non-machine tasks, including repairing material leaks, repairing or replacing belts, preventive maintenance, greasing, and cleaning.
• Adhere to safety expectations and guidelines.
