About The Position

Tao Group Hospitality is hiring a Hostperson for a new concept opening in early 2027 at a five-star hotel on Park Avenue in Manhattan’s NoMad district. The Hostperson greets guests and guides them to tables as directed by the Maitre’D, communicates seating preferences and guest issues to the Maitre’D or management, and interacts politely and hospitably with guests, colleagues, and supervisors. The role supports the guest experience and front-of-house operations by anticipating guest needs, maintaining the entrance area, taking and processing reservations, answering calls and questions, checking coats and other belongings where applicable, and keeping menus organized and ready for service. The Hostperson also performs restroom checks, opening and closing duties, side-work, and other tasks assigned by management. They attend pre-service meetings and training, maintain a positive and professional attitude, and work collaboratively with the team. The position requires communicating clearly, standing for extended periods, moving quickly, and pushing or lifting up to 75 pounds, with or without assistance. The work may take place in an office, casino, nightclub, bar, lounge, or restaurant environment, with varying noise, crowds, and smoke depending on guest volume. Cleaning-material exposure and extended or irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may occur.
