The Busser supports Servers and Cocktail Servers with guest-service tasks and resets tables in a speedy, professional, and effective manner. The role interacts courteously with dining-room and lounge guests, fellow team members, and supervisors to provide gracious hospitality. This position is for a new Tao Group Hospitality concept opening at a five-star hotel on Park Avenue in Manhattan’s NoMad district in early 2027. The Busser anticipates and accommodates guest needs; maintains the cleanliness and order of tables, surrounding areas, stations, and the venue; communicates guest needs to front-of-house and heart-of-house staff; and delivers and refills water as requested. The role clears and resets tables, cleans table areas and banquettes during service, supports guest satisfaction through active participation, and follows Department of Health and company sanitation standards. Duties also include setting up floor and side stations, completing side work and assigned opening and closing procedures, ensuring tables and seating are clean, setting tables properly, stocking side stations, helping mark tables for upcoming courses when available, reporting breakage or damage to management, attending pre-service meetings and training, and supporting fellow team members. The Busser is expected to maintain a positive, professional attitude, learn by observing and sharing knowledge, and complete additional assigned tasks. Training is provided through Tao Group Hospitality’s in-venue busser training. The role may involve extended or irregular hours, evening and weekend shifts, and holidays. The environment may be fast-paced and stressful, with varying noise and crowd levels and exposure to smoke and cleaning materials. Work settings may include an office, casino, nightclub, bar, lounge, or restaurant.
