About The Position

As a Hostperson for Din Tai Fung at Aria, you warmly welcome guests to the restaurant and help create an outstanding dining experience. You coordinate the flow of the dining room, keep the entrance organized and presentable, and work with Food Servers, Buspersons, and Food Runners to manage tables and seat guests. The role calls for polished, attentive hospitality in a busy restaurant setting.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of relevant experience as a dining host in a restaurant.
• Prior experience with OpenTable, SevenRooms, or a similar system.

Responsibilities

• Communicate special orders, cake orders, and other guest requests to management in coordination with Restaurant Reservations.
• Maintain knowledge of daily activities, in-house groups, house count, table and station numbers, table setups, room capacity, operating hours, price range, and dress code.
• Promptly greet guests as they enter the restaurant.
• Answer phones, accurately track reservations, and manage the reservation book.
• Ensure menus have current inserts and replace menus that are in poor condition.
• Communicate guest needs to the kitchen and management, share guest reactions and comments with management, and assist management to support smooth operations and quality service.
• Check in frequently with guests waiting to be seated and keep them informed while tables are prepared.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
• Shut down the podium and forward phones to the voice-loop at the end of the shift.
