About The Position
The Hostler moves trailers between the lot and dock doors, stages loads, and coordinates with warehouse operations to help ensure products are delivered safely and on time. The role includes moving raw-material loads as directed, installing and removing trailer stands, loading staged pallets into trucks, and maintaining housekeeping and sanitation. Hands-on and classroom training are provided. The work is fast-paced and hands-on, with frequent lifting, bending, and moving product. The position is based in Beloit, Wisconsin, pays $27.51 per hour, and is scheduled for four business days, from 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. The posting describes the role as full-time and notes that some weekends, holidays, and off-shift work are required.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Possess a valid Class A commercial driver's license.
- Be willing and able to work some weekends, holidays, and off shift.
- Be able to lift 15 to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Be able to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Be able to sit for extended periods, up to five hours daily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Be willing and able to work in an environment with extreme temperatures, humidity, hazardous or loud equipment, and slippery surfaces.
Responsibilities
- Move trailers from the lot to dock doors and back to the lot as directed.
- Work with a supervisor to move raw-material loads to doors as needed.
- Install and remove trailer stands as necessary.
- Stage pallets and load them into trucks when ready.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and sanitation as needed.
