About The Position
Trumbull Kitchen, an award-winning upscale restaurant in Hartford, Connecticut, is seeking a polished and professional part-time Host with open availability. The Host helps deliver an exceptional guest experience in a fast-paced setting featuring contemporary American cuisine with global influences. Requirements
- Prior experience as a Host or in a guest-facing role in a fine-dining or upscale-casual setting is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a polished phone manner.
- Friendly, engaging personality and a passion for excellent service.
- Ability to manage time effectively and stay organized in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Positive outlook and team-player attitude, with a strong commitment to service excellence.
- Professional demeanor and ability to interact respectfully and courteously with guests.
- Ability to handle guest concerns or inquiries calmly and professionally.
- Open availability.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with reservation systems such as OpenTable.
- Experience handling reservations and assisting with event coordination.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests enthusiastically and professionally, helping them feel comfortable and valued.
- Manage dining room reservations and coordinate seating to optimize guest flow and minimize wait times.
- Respond to guest inquiries and requests accurately and promptly.
- Provide special services for guests celebrating special occasions.
- Help organize and maintain the front-of-house area.
- Collaborate with the team to support a smooth and efficient guest experience throughout service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming restaurant atmosphere.
- Assist with to-go orders, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and organization.
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment.
