About The Position

The Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers and maintaining a clean, organized store. The associate follows operational, merchandising, and loss-prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The role also includes processing purchases and returns, preparing merchandise for the sales floor, maintaining store recovery and cleanliness, supporting shrink-reduction and safety programs, and promoting credit and loyalty programs. The position is part-time and nights and weekends; starting pay is $16.00 to $16.50 per hour, with actual pay determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Model customer-experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Follow the company's merchandising philosophy and established merchandising procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards and help maintain the cleanliness of the entire store.
• Give and receive recognition and constructive feedback.
• Follow labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
