Custodian - Part Time, Nights and Weekends

About The Position

The Custodian maintains the cleanliness of the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center under the supervision of the Recreation Manager of Facilities and Aquatics. This part-time position is scheduled Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. It pays $18.50 per hour and includes a free gym membership.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age of 18.
Knowledge of the use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and agents.
Ability to follow directions and work independently.
Detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate, support, and enforce park district customer service standards, exercising professional judgment and initiative within established policies and regulations.
Prepare the building for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture, and dusting surfaces.
Clean up after accidents or illnesses.
Maintain cleaning tools, equipment, and materials in proper condition.
Wash and wipe down windows and walls.
Use cleaning equipment and materials to maintain floors.
Clean and sanitize restroom facilities.
Replenish disposable supplies.
Collect and take out trash and recycling.
Report repairs and supply needs to the Recreation Manager of Facilities and Aquatics.
Assist with facility grounds work on occasion, including snow removal.
Assist with event setup, teardown, and maintenance when needed.
Maintain records, reports, and checklists as requested.
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
Perform additional related tasks as required.
