About The Position

The Host is the first and last point of contact for guests at Flanigan’s, setting the tone for their experience through warm, welcoming service. The role greets and escorts guests, manages seating flow and the wait list, answers inquiries, and communicates guest questions or concerns to the manager on duty. The Host also maintains clean and stocked guest areas, handles telephone inquiries, and completes shift-change, opening, closing, and assigned sidework.

Requirements

• Can reach, bend, and stoop frequently.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Complete and pass the Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.
• Complete and pass the food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a cheerful, courteous temperament and a neat, clean, professional image.
• Greet guests using Flanigan’s “Smile Talk.”
• Engage guests using Flanigan’s “Smile Talk” while escorting them to their table in a timely manner.
• Efficiently manage the wait list for seating.
• Communicate guests’ questions or concerns to the manager on duty.
• Keep the foyer, host/hostess station, and waiting area clean and free of debris; restock and clean menus.
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests.
• Answer the telephone within four rings, respond to guests’ questions, and/or direct guests to the proper staff member.
• Conclude guests’ visits using Flanigan’s “Smile Talk.”
• Perform shift changes, opening and closing duties, and assigned sidework.
