About The Position

The Host / To Go Specialist supports front-of-house guest service and back-of-house order preparation and expediting. The role welcomes and seats guests, identifies their needs, helps with beverage service, handles telephone and to-go orders, and responds appropriately to complaints and feedback. It also packages and verifies to-go orders, expedites dine-in orders, prepares drinks for waitstaff, maintains clean and stocked areas, and assists other team members.

Responsibilities

Suggest new menu items from limited-time offerings.
Clean, complete side work, and organize supplies as needed.
Proactively assist other team members.
Provide total guest satisfaction.
Greet and welcome customers upon arrival, verify party size, and determine special needs such as high chairs or special menus.
Seat customers at tables or booths appropriate to their needs and the restaurant, and introduce the feature of the day.
Keep the hostess area stocked and clean, including to-go items and bakery products.
Handle incoming telephone calls promptly and take to-go orders as appropriate.
Maintain an adequate supply of clean menus.
Offer initial beverage suggestions and provide beverage orders and refills.
Resolve complaints when they arise, notify the manager of complaints, and handle customer complaints or suggestions appropriately.
Collect customer payments according to established cash-handling procedures and ask about food and service satisfaction.
Bus and clean guest tables in the dining room.
Take trays of dirty dishware to the dish room and stock the service area with clean dishware.
Package to-go orders with complete accuracy for food, beverages, and accompaniments.
Complete the sign-off process on all to-go receipts.
Expedite dine-in orders accurately and position food properly on service trays.
Prepare drinks for waitstaff to improve speed of service and table turns.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
