About The Position

The Host / To Go Specialist supports front- and back-of-house operations by welcoming and seating guests, assisting with guest needs, handling telephone calls and to-go orders, maintaining the host area, and helping ensure guest satisfaction. The role also packages to-go orders and expedites dine-in orders accurately, prepares drinks for waitstaff, and maintains clean, organized work areas and supplies. Other work-related duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

Suggest new menu items from limited-time offerings.
Clean, complete side work, and organize supplies as needed.
Proactively assist other team members.
Provide total guest satisfaction.
Greet and welcome customers immediately upon arrival and verify party size.
Determine guests' special needs, such as high chairs or special menus.
Seat customers at tables or booths appropriate to their needs and the restaurant, and introduce the feature of the day.
Keep the hostess area stocked and clean, including to-go items and bakery products.
Handle incoming telephone calls promptly and take to-go orders as appropriate.
Maintain an adequate supply of clean menus.
Offer initial beverage suggestions, take beverage orders, and provide refills.
Resolve complaints when they arise and notify the manager of complaints received.
Collect customer payments according to cash-handling procedures, ask about food and service satisfaction, and handle complaints or suggestions appropriately.
Bus and clean guest tables in the dining room.
Deliver dirty dishware to the dishroom and stock the service area with clean dishware.
Package to-go orders with 100% accuracy, including food, beverages, and accompaniments.
Complete the sign-off process on all to-go receipts.
Expedite dine-in orders with 100% accuracy and properly position food on service trays.
Prepare drinks for waitstaff to help improve speed of service and table turns.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
