About The Position

The Hostess will greet and escort guests to tables in the restaurant. This role involves answering the phone and taking reservations, importing them into the Open Table database, and maintaining communication with the Manager on Duty.

Requirements

• Knowledge of restaurant operations service equipment and guest relations.
• Ability to read the English language to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, reservations, promotional materials, event orders and similar written materials.
• Ability to move throughout a crowded room to seat guests.
• Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.

• Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to graduation from high school that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet guests as they arrive and escort them to their table and present menu
• Maintain host desk and all menus tidy/ clean/ neat
• Receive record and make any necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions in the restaurant.
• Maintain an open line of communication between guests, management and other team members.
• Observe all safety procedures during the execution of assigned duties.
• Work efficiently as a team.
