About The Position

Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks is seeking an experienced, talented and passionate Hostess/Host. The Club is a private member owned golf and country club in beautiful Thousand Oaks California set at the base of the Santa Monica Mountains and home to a championship 18-hole Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, driving range, and two Georgian style golf and tennis clubhouses. In this role, you will lead and mentor staff and control service quality and expectations which exceed member expectations. The role requires at least 2 years of high-profile customer service experience preferably in food and beverage in a similar environment.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate with some hospitality experience desired
  • Currently ServSafe Certified
  • Prior fine dining service desired
  • Excellent appearance standards
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • At least 2 years of high-profile customer service experience preferably in food and beverage in a similar environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide courteous, respectful and friendly service to all members and guests dining at Sherwood Country Club.
  • Responsible for the organization and taking of reservations and to-go orders.
  • Proper greeting and seating of members.
  • Assisting with service as needed.
  • Arrive at work on time, with tools and equipment required for service.
  • Possess proactive work ethic with excellent customer service skills to provide exceptional service to members, guests and colleagues at all times.
  • Excellent ability to work cohesively with large team.
  • Clean and organize the Host/Hostess stand.
  • Change out menus from lunch to dinner service, ensure menus are clean and orderly and readily available including: children’s menus; children's activity books; wine lists, memorize food or wine specials.
  • Answer telephones in a courteous, timely manner according to Sherwood standards.
  • Review existing reservations, take new reservations, spaced out appropriately to ensure flow of service.
  • Place reserved signs as needed and communicate to servers as required.
  • Take food and beverage to-go orders from members/guests in a detailed and friendly manner.
  • Prepare with information from the Chef including items available from the kitchen.
