About The Position

LSI is seeking passionate and independent individuals to become Host Home Providers in the Council Bluffs area and the Southwest Iowa region. This contracted position involves hosting an adult with disabilities, including intellectual, physical, mental health, and brain injuries, in your home. As a Host Home Provider, you will offer person-centered guidance, support, and care, focusing on the individual's goals such as shopping, budgeting, coping skills, cooking, personal hygiene, and community integration. You will act as an advocate and mentor, helping the individual live their best life and become part of your family. LSI provides matching services, support, guidance, and resources for training. Training requirements and a home safety check are mandatory before placement. The average annual pay for an Independent Provider is $70,000.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 or older.
  • Must reside in Iowa.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have a current/valid driver's license.
  • Must meet minimum insurance requirements.
  • Must have access to a computer/internet to complete documentation requirements.
  • Must successfully complete all steps of the extensive screening, interview, and matching process.
  • Must have flexibility and creativity.
  • Must have a passion for making a difference in the world.
  • Requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, commercial general liability insurance, a decent driving record.
  • Ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry, criminal history check, reference checks and a home safety check.
  • Background checks are required for all individuals residing in the home over the age of 18.

Responsibilities
