About The Position

At Black Bear Diners, a family-friendly restaurant concept serving homemade food and providing friendly service since 1995, Server Support Team members help ensure guests have a positive and friendly experience. The role combines hosting, cashiering, and bussing duties, including greeting and seating guests, handling takeout orders and payments, maintaining dining and service areas, and supporting restaurant operations as directed by management. Employees must follow company appearance and uniform standards and be available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Accommodate special seating requests whenever possible.
• Greet arriving guests warmly and promptly.
• Seat guests according to their preferences while balancing customer flow among service stations.
• When seating is limited, record guest names and party sizes, provide estimated wait times, and notify guests when tables are available.
• Offer menus when seating guests and check tables for proper presentation and completeness.
• Relay messages to servers as needed.
• Maintain clean entrances, lobbies, dining rooms, and restrooms.
• Assist servers with maintaining and stocking service stations.
• Transport bus tubs of dirty dishes to the dish room when needed.
• Clean and reset tables promptly, including cleaning chairs, booths, and surrounding carpet.
• Take takeout food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale system.
• Process payments accurately and efficiently and close checks.
• Thank guests for visiting and invite them to return.
• Perform assigned side work at the start and end of each shift.
• Fill in as needed to support smooth and efficient restaurant operations, as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
