PRN Hospitalist - Missouri Baptist Medical Center
About The Position
BJC Medical Group is seeking a PRN Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician for a Hospitalist position at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in Town & Country, Missouri. The physician provides professional medical services in their specialty and direct care for hospitalized patients, along with related duties such as completing medical records, providing MyChart consultations and in-basket management, patient-specific education, and collaboration with advanced practice providers and care team members. The position has 12-hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and uses EPIC. The hospital has a closed, 30-bed ICU. This is a safety-sensitive role requiring the ability to remain alert and work safely.
Requirements
- Doctorate in Medicine.
- Board-eligible status and a physician license.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Nice To Haves
- 2–5 years of hospitalist medicine experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage the medical care of a patient panel by providing or arranging inpatient hospital care, including regular hospital rounds or coverage by a hospitalist or other qualified physician consistent with Medical Staff requirements.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and care team members to support excellent patient outcomes at designated BJC clinic and outreach locations.
- Perform and document medical histories and physical examinations in patient records as required by hospital medical staff bylaws.
- Provide or arrange clinic and inpatient call coverage in accordance with BJC policies, Medical Staff bylaws, and applicable legal, ethical, and professional standards.
- Collaborate with and teach advanced practice providers, support staff, and other care team members involved in the care of the physician’s patients.
- Complete medical records, provide MyChart consultations and in-basket management, and conduct patient-specific education.
