Hospitalist - Nocturnist NP/PA (Oneonta, NY)
About The Position
Bassett Healthcare Network, a progressive, academic health system in central New York and a major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide Nocturnist Hospitalist services for Bassett Healthcare Network in Oneonta, NY at A.O. Fox Hospital. The community hospital is licensed for 53 med/surg beds. Subspecialty services are available in Cardiology, General Surgery, Infectious disease, Pulmonary, Orthopedics and a burgeoning telemedicine service including Psychiatry, Palliative Care, and Neurology. Bassett is an EPIC EMR Network.
Requirements
- NP or PA
- NYS Licensure
- DEA Required
- Must be motivated to tackle challenges and be able to work independently
Nice To Haves
- Previous Inpatient Experience Preferred
- Procedural skills preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Responsible for admitting patients from the ED and nearby hospitals, fielding transfer calls, and cross covering inpatients
- Attend codes and rapid responses with the direct assistance of an in-house (24/7) board-certified Emergency Medicine physician
- Telephone back-up from hospitalist physicians
- Build relationships with other practitioners at A.O. Fox Hospital and within Bassett Healthcare Network
