About The Position

This role serves as the hospital sales specialist within an assigned territory, responsible for meeting all sales objectives for Chiesi USA’s CARE promoted hospital products and upholding company standards. The specialist will call on targeted customers, promote and sell Chiesi USA products, achieve sales goals, conduct in-services, navigate hospital formulary processes, and implement territory business plans. Key responsibilities include establishing and maintaining professional relationships with healthcare professionals, developing influential customers, scheduling high-impact meetings, implementing special programs to maximize sales, and refining sales strategies. The role also involves partnering with internal Chiesi teams to meet customer needs and advance the selling process. Additionally, the specialist will be responsible for territory planning, reporting, and development, including creating and updating territory business plans, preparing reports and presentations for management, and identifying trends, opportunities, and obstacles. The role requires rapid product and sales tool proficiency, managing a territory budget, and timely responses to requests. The position requires a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and thorough knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and hospital credentialing processes, including passing a drug test.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year accredited university
  • Two years’ pharmaceutical industry sales experience
  • Excellent communication (interpersonal and public speaking) skills
  • Proven organizational and territory management skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Proficiency in presenting scientific information utilizing visual aids, clinical reprints and technical data is a necessity
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Successful completion of new hire training and the ability to pass product knowledge tests
  • Skillfully plans, prioritizes and executes multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision in a highly dynamic work environment
  • Valid driver’s license and maintain acceptable driving record
  • Thorough knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and hospital credentialing processes. This includes obtaining and maintaining the necessary hospital credentials to access and operate within healthcare institutions. Credentialing includes successful completion of a drug test, including testing for marijuana.

Responsibilities

  • Call on targeted customers and promote/sell Chiesi USA products in accordance with approved methods within your assigned geographic territory
  • Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual sales goals
  • Conducts in-services and clinical discussions with physicians, pharmacists, and hospital staff
  • Navigate hospital formulary process
  • Implement territory business plans aligned to regional and national goals
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with medical centers, pharmacies, physicians, medical staff, and others
  • Develop influential customers as local advocates and champions
  • Schedule and conduct high-impact meetings with targeted customers and peers
  • Implement special programs to maximize sales opportunities (e.g. speaker bureau programs, symposia, and displays at conventions)
  • Continuously refine sales and retention strategies to optimize business outcomes and create "win-win" results for physicians and company market providers
  • Partners and leverages Chiesi’s internal teams to meet customer needs and move the selling process forward
  • Develop, update, and adhere to territory business plans
  • Prepare reports and presentations for management
  • Prepare and present monthly sales reports, identifying trends opportunities, and obstacles to new business growth
  • Rapidly gain proficiency with products and sales tools (visual aids, clinical reprints, technical data, educational materials, etc.) to demonstrate a high degree of competence and knowledge to a highly trained audience
  • Manages territory budget within assigned Company guidelines
