About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Hospital Phlebotomist to join its team at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama. The role performs blood collection and specimen processing, provides customer service to patients, and handles related data entry, billing, and administrative tasks. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with rotating Saturdays. Travel to additional sites may be needed.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Phlebotomy certification, completion of a phlebotomy training program, or at least 3 months of phlebotomy experience.
If relying on certification or training instead of work experience, the certification or program must be from an accredited agency.
Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Comfort working under minimal supervision.
Reliable transportation.
Flexibility to work overtime.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
At least 1 year of medical laboratory processing experience.

Responsibilities

Perform blood collections using venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other purposes.
Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
Prepare and process collected specimens for testing and analysis.
Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
Provide superior customer service to patients.
Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
Travel to additional sites when needed.
