About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a Hospital Phlebotomist to join its team at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama. The role involves skilled specimen collection, specimen preparation and processing, patient service, and related administrative duties. The phlebotomist will serve as a face of the company and may travel to additional sites when needed. The position offers opportunities for continuous growth within the organization. Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with rotating Saturdays.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Phlebotomy certification, completion of a training program, or at least 3 months of phlebotomy experience.
If qualifying through certification or training instead of work experience, the certification or program must be from an accredited agency.
Proven track record of exceptional customer service.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Comfort working under minimal supervision.
Reliable transportation.
Flexibility to work overtime.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
At least 1 year of medical laboratory processing experience.

Responsibilities

Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other purposes.
Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
Prepare and process collected specimens for testing and analysis.
Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
Provide superior customer service to patients.
Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
Travel to additional sites when needed.
