About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a Hospital Phlebotomist to join its team at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama. The role performs skilled specimen collections and provides customer service to patients. It also includes opportunities for continued growth within the organization. The schedule is four 10-hour shifts, from 8:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Shifts are typically Monday through Friday, with days varying and rotating weekends.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Phlebotomy certification, completion of a phlebotomy training program, or at least 3 months of phlebotomy experience.
If relying on certification or training instead of work experience, the credential or program must be from an accredited agency.
Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Comfort working under minimal supervision.
Reliable transportation.
Flexibility to work overtime.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

Perform blood collections using venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other purposes.
Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
Provide superior customer service to patients.
Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
Travel to additional sites when needed.
