About The Position

The Environmental Services Technician maintains high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility. The role cleans and disinfects assigned areas, transports and removes waste, sanitizes, stocks, and organizes areas. It follows standard work processes and infection prevention standards, properly mixes and stores chemicals, and uses personal protective equipment. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with every-other-weekend work and holiday rotation required. It is located at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
Ability to move freely, including standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
Comply with department-specific competencies.
The job classification is exposed to bloodborne pathogens, including blood or bodily fluids, while performing job duties.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Clean and disinfect patient rooms, floors, offices, conference rooms, equipment, furniture, common areas, and waiting rooms in accordance with hospital-approved infection prevention standards.
Collaborate with multiple departments to meet patient and department priorities and support safe outcomes for patients and customers.
Work independently or as part of a team to achieve system standards.
Learn and use required personal protective equipment according to infection prevention protocols.
Use hospital-approved chemicals and disinfectants correctly and follow the required dwell times for each task and product.
Handle regular, recycling, hazardous, chemotherapy, regulated medical, pharmaceutical, and radioactive waste, and understand applicable basic federal, state, and local standards.
Support the hospital's mission, vision, values, standards, policies and procedures, confidentiality, corporate compliance plan, customer service standards, and ethical behavior.
