Hospice Volunteer
About The Position
Chemik Hospice Care is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to volunteer with patients and families receiving hospice care. Volunteers provide emotional support, companionship, and non-medical assistance. Activities may include conversation, reading, listening to music, or simply being present with patients. Volunteers may also support families and caregivers, assist with light errands, administrative tasks, or events, and participate in bereavement follow-up or support activities. Comprehensive orientation and training, flexible scheduling, and ongoing support from the interdisciplinary care team are offered.
Requirements
- Be compassionate, empathetic, and reliable.
- Have good communication and listening skills.
- Be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Be willing to undergo background screening and training.
- Be 18 years or older.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship to patients.
- Offer emotional support to families.
- Assist with light errands or provide caregiver respite.
- Support administrative tasks or events.
- Participate in bereavement follow-up or support activities.
