About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice provides gentle hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in the comfort of their homes. We are seeking a Compassionate Veterinarian to practice medicine that matters, focusing on end-of-life care without the pace and pressure of a traditional clinic. This role allows for independent practice on the road with strong team support, focusing on providing compassionate care during a pet's final moments. The position emphasizes quality time with each patient and family, offering a schedule built around the veterinarian's life and work that is meaningful and rewarding.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD/BVMS)
Valid U.S. Driver's License
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 90 lbs with assistance
Completion of license verification, background check, and driving record review before start date.

Responsibilities

Provide gentle hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets.
Be fully present for pets and families during the end-of-life process.
Practice medicine at a pace that allows for listening, explaining, and honoring every pet's story.
Answer difficult questions with kindness and help families say goodbye with dignity and peace.
Practice independently on the road while having team support available.
Manage a schedule with a limited number of appointments per day.
Serve clients in Louisville, Middletown, Jeffersontown, Kentucky, and surrounding areas.
