About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Perry Hall, White Marsh, Nottingham, and Rosedale, Maryland. The role focuses on delivering unhurried, compassionate end-of-life care in pets’ homes, helping families make informed decisions and say goodbye with dignity and peace. Veterinarians practice independently while traveling to appointments, with onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and access to experienced colleagues for support. Schedules are available for five-day full-time, four-day full-time, and two- or three-day arrangements, including self-managed part-time schedules. Compensation is prorated according to schedule where applicable, with quarterly bonus opportunities. The position includes four weekend days per month selected by the veterinarian rather than a fixed rotation. Heartstrings describes itself as family-owned and not backed by private equity, and does not require a non-compete agreement.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.

Responsibilities
