About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Toledo and Bowling Green, Ohio; Monroe, Michigan; and the surrounding metropolitan area. Care is delivered in pets’ homes, where veterinarians help families navigate end-of-life decisions and say goodbye with dignity and peace. The role offers a slower-paced alternative to traditional clinic work, with a few appointments each day and time to listen, explain, and honor each pet’s story. Veterinarians practice independently while traveling, with onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues available for support. Several scheduling options are available: five-day full-time, four-day full-time, and two- or three-day schedules, including self-managed part-time options. Compensation is prorated according to schedule, with guaranteed compensation ranging from $50,000 to $135,000 and quarterly bonus opportunities. The position has no non-compete agreement. Weekend days are chosen by the veterinarian, with four weekend days per month selected to fit their schedule.
