About The Position

Mountain Valley Hospice is hiring an after-hours hospice RN who provides compassionate nursing care and reassurance to patients and families outside regular hours. The role is primarily on-call from home, with in-home visits when clinical needs require hands-on care. The nurse remains available within the assigned service area during scheduled on-call hours and collaborates with the hospice care team to support continuity of care. The listed schedule is Friday through Sunday, 4 PM–8 AM.

Requirements

• Current RN license.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and respond to changing patient needs.
• Ability to remain within the assigned service area during scheduled on-call hours and travel to patients' homes when needed.

Nice To Haves

• Hospice, home health, or related nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to after-hours patient and family calls.
• Assess patient needs and provide nursing guidance and support.
• Make in-home patient visits when clinical needs require hands-on care.
• Collaborate with the hospice care team to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide comfort, symptom management, and compassionate support to patients and families.
