About The Position

Mountain Valley Hospice is hiring an after-hours registered nurse to provide compassionate care and reassurance to patients and families. The nurse is primarily on call from home, remaining available to respond to patient needs and make in-home visits when necessary. The role offers independence between care needs while providing hands-on nursing care throughout the assigned service area. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 5 PM to 8 AM.

Requirements

• Current RN license.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and respond to changing patient needs.
• Ability to remain within the assigned service area during scheduled on-call hours and travel to patients' homes when needed.

• Hospice, home health, or related nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Respond to after-hours patient and family calls.
• Assess patient needs and provide nursing guidance and support.
• Make in-home patient visits when clinical needs require hands-on care.
• Collaborate with the hospice care team to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide comfort, symptom management, and compassionate support to patients and families.
