The Hospice Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care and coordinates hospice services according to patient needs, Ohio’s Hospice standards, and Medicare Conditions of Participation. The role supports the goal of helping patients experience a comfortable and peaceful death. Respiratory visits are prioritized according to emergent needs, diagnosis, and complex equipment needs. Visits are required for patients with ALS, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, and respiratory failure. Visits for patients with lung cancer are based on nurse request or the respiratory complexity of the patient’s care. Complex needs may include CPAP, BiPAP, tracheostomy, and high-flow oxygen. This is a part-time daytime driving position serving patients within Ohio’s Hospice South Region coverage areas. The schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m.
