PRN Hospice Licensed Vocational Nurse, LVN (AM)

About The Position

Silverado Palliative Coastal Valleys is hiring a Hospice Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide skilled nursing and palliative care to patients and families facing life-limiting illnesses across San Diego County. The role combines clinical expertise, compassion, and relationship-building to support patients during end-of-life care and help them maintain dignity. The LVN works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and collaborates with the interdisciplinary Palliative team. The schedule is PRN (per diem), Monday through Friday, with variable shifts as needed to meet business needs. Travel to patients’ homes is required. The anticipated pay range is $34–$38 USD.

Requirements

Valid LVN/LPN license in the state.
At least 1 year of LVN/LPN experience.
CPR certification.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable working around animals and pets.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel.
May be required to work outside regular hours based on patient needs.

Nice To Haves

Hospice experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Deliver skilled nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Provide pain and symptom management, medical treatments, and patient education.
Support patients and families through end-of-life care with empathy and professionalism.
Participate in care planning and collaborate with the interdisciplinary Palliative team.
Maintain accurate documentation and comply with Palliative protocols.
Travel to patient homes across San Diego County.
