Hospice Aide- PRN
About The Position
Care Initiatives Hospice is seeking a PRN Hospice Aide to support the Muscatine area. The aide provides personalized care in locations where patients feel most comfortable, including private homes, long-term care communities, assisted living residences, and hospitals. The role supports patients facing life-limiting illnesses through compassionate care that respects their dignity and individual needs. Hospice Aides work with patients, families, caregivers, and the healthcare team, helping address patients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. The position includes assistance with daily living, companionship, communication, recreational and therapeutic activities, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Requirements
- Active CPR certification.
- Current driver's license and automobile liability insurance.
- Ability to travel between multiple locations within the region.
- Ability to obtain Hospice Nursing Assistant Certification through CHPN within 24 months of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working as a Hospice Aide, Home Health Aide, and/or Certified Nursing Assistant during the previous 24 months.
- Hospice or palliative care experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Provide emotional support and companionship while fostering a positive and engaging environment.
- Communicate with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Encourage and facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities to support health and daily routines.
- Follow infection control protocols to help maintain a clean and safe environment.
