About The Position

Care Initiatives Hospice is seeking a PRN Hospice Aide to support the Muscatine area. The Hospice Aide provides personalized care to patients in settings where they are most comfortable, including private homes, long-term care communities, assisted living residences, and hospitals. The role supports patients with life-limiting illnesses through a holistic approach that addresses physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, while collaborating with family members, caregivers, and the healthcare team to honor patients’ needs and wishes.

Requirements

• Active CPR certification.
• Current driver's license and automobile liability insurance.
• Ability to travel between multiple locations within the region.
• Ability to obtain Hospice Nursing Assistant Certification through CHPN within 24 months of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working as a Hospice Aide, Home Health Aide, and/or Certified Nursing Assistant during the previous 24 months.
• Hospice or palliative care experience.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
• Provide emotional support and companionship while fostering a positive and engaging environment.
• Interact and communicate with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
• Encourage and facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities to enhance health and daily routines.
• Follow infection control protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment.
