Hospice Aide- PRN
About The Position
Care Initiatives Hospice is seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide to provide personalized care to patients with life-limiting illnesses in settings where they feel most comfortable, including homes, long-term care communities, assisted living residences, and hospitals. The role supports patients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs and works collaboratively with family members, caregivers, and the healthcare team to honor patients’ needs and wishes with compassion, dignity, and respect. The Hospice Aide assists with daily living activities, offers emotional support and companionship, helps facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities, and follows infection control protocols to promote a clean and safe environment. The position requires CPR certification, a current driver’s license, automobile liability insurance, and the ability to travel between multiple locations in the assigned region. The employee must be able to obtain Hospice Nursing Assistant Certification through CHPN within 24 months of employment.

Nice To Haves
- Experience working as a Hospice Aide, Home Health Aide, and/or Certified Nursing Assistant during the previous 24 months.
- Hospice or palliative care experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a positive and engaging environment.
- Communicate and interact with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
- Encourage and facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities to enhance health and daily routines.
- Follow infection control protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Travel between multiple locations within the assigned region.
