About The Position

Care Initiatives Hospice is seeking a PRN Hospice Aide serving Council Bluffs and surrounding areas. The role provides personalized care to patients in settings such as their homes, long-term care communities, assisted living residences, and hospitals. Hospice Aides take a holistic approach to supporting people with life-limiting illnesses, addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs while working collaboratively with patients’ families, caregivers, and the healthcare team.

Requirements

• Active CPR certification.
• Current driver's license and automobile liability insurance.
• Ability to travel between multiple locations within the region.
• Ability to obtain Hospice Nursing Assistant Certification through CHPN within 24 months of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working as a Hospice Aide, Home Health Aide, and/or Certified Nursing Assistant during the previous 24 months.
• Hospice or palliative care experience.

Responsibilities

• Support activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
• Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a positive and engaging environment.
• Communicate and interact with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
• Encourage and facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities to support health and daily routines.
• Follow infection control protocols to help maintain a clean and safe environment.
