This position participates in the Annual Flower Program, including flower unit counts, design layout assistance, and plant installation. It involves routine maintenance of color locations, such as weed control and fertility/soil level maintenance. The role also includes receiving program flower stock and other plants, placing them in the designated Annual Flower Program area of the UF nursery, and maintaining these plants while in the nursery. Additionally, the position involves propagating plant material and maintaining newly propagated material as required. Assistance with the maintenance of high-profile landscape areas is also part of the duties. The role requires operating State Vehicles, including pick-up trucks, heavy-duty utility vehicles, trailers, and golf carts. Other related work may be assigned. This position requires a post-offer Health Assessment and Hearing Evaluation, and the employee must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E Driver’s License. A Criminal Background Check is also required.
