About The Position
Flextrades is hiring Hone/Lap Techs with 4+ years of recent experience for a 3-9 month contract in California. This role involves setting up and operating bore honing and manual bench lap machines. The equipment used includes older manual Sunnen horizontal single-spindle machines for bore honing, as well as two semi-automated hones for roughing. All hone and lap operations are performed post-precision grinding to polish the inside diameter of parts.
Requirements
- 4+ recent years operating bore honing and manual bench lap machines
- Required to have ITAR documentation (Birth Certificate)
- Must pass a background check and drug test
Nice To Haves
- Open to Techs with Precision Grinders with ID, OD, or centerless grinding experience
- Skilled vertical Mill Machinist (CNC or Manual)
Responsibilities
- Setting up and operating bore honing, manual bench lap machines.
- Honing equipment is mostly manual older Sunnen horizontal single-spindle machines for bore honing.
- Operating two semi-automated hones which are used mainly for roughing.
- Performing hone and lap operations post-precision grinding to polish the inside diameter of parts.

- EARN up to $3000/WEEK
- $48/hr
- 50hrs/week GUARANTEED (OT over 40)
- $45 per diem (tax-free), 7 days a week
