About The Position
As a Parts Counter team member at Norm Reeves Honda in Cerritos, you assist guests primarily through the shop, as well as by phone and online. You provide an exceptional guest experience by pulling and filling orders, organizing inventory, staying current on new products and product updates, and communicating with internal team members, external vendors, and guests in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner. Your work helps ensure guests are fully satisfied with their Norm Reeves Honda experience. This role is described as an entry point for a car enthusiast who enjoys finding solutions, has prior automotive-industry experience, and knows parts sales.
Requirements
- Previous parts sales experience and a desire to continuously learn more.
- Full-time availability.
- At least 18 years old.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Excellent follow-up skills, including frequent communication about parts inventory and availability.
- Professional appearance and work ethic.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Inform customers about companion part requirements and specials, ensuring they are exposed to the full product line.
- Notify the Parts Manager about out-of-stock parts or shop materials requiring immediate attention.
- Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit emergency orders when necessary.
- Notify Service Advisors when special-order parts are received.
- Follow up on back-ordered parts.
- Weekly, verify will-call and back-order files, vendor returns, and stock items that were not picked up.
- Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
- Ensure internal parts requests are billed on service repair orders.
- Maintain organized records of repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special-order parts.
- Assist the Parts Manager in maintaining a lost-sales tracking program.
- Assist guests through the shop, by phone, and online; pull and fill orders, organize inventory, and communicate with guests, colleagues, and vendors.
