About The Position

This role is responsible for property, building, and grounds maintenance to ensure the distillery grounds and public buildings are maintained at the highest level of preparedness (5-star standards) and aesthetic beauty. The technician will provide best-in-class service and support to operations, events, visitors, and guests, with direct responsibility for executing duties related to grounds and property maintenance.

Requirements

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of Distillery Operations.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
• Ability to operate industrial and grounds equipment as required.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Knowledge of gardening techniques, tools, and products.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance as required.
• Must be physically able to stand, bend, kneel, squat, and perform repetitive motions.
• Must have experience with or the ability to learn the required tasks.
• Good vision and manual dexterity.
• Must have ability to climb and work at high elevations.
• Must be able to work in an outdoor environment in all types of weather conditions.
• Ability to learn Horticultural principles and practices.

Nice To Haves

• Education and/or experience in horticulture or landscape maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules, regulations, and policies, and report any near misses or hazards encountered.
• Maintain a safe work environment through proper care of tools and equipment.
• Perform grounds and property tasks including maintaining garden, plant, and lawn areas using horticulturally correct practices and principles to high aesthetic and cultural standards. Tasks include mowing, trimming, pruning, bed maintenance, mulching, seeding, fertilizing plants/soil amendments, and landscape area leaf removal.
• Safely operate tools and motorized equipment as required.
• Demonstrate flexibility to work in an ever-changing environment with the ability to prioritize and juggle competing tasks.
• Fill out and turn in daily job sheets with required job status and hours worked to supervisors.
• Support Homeplace and Operations with snow and ice removal, grounds/property maintenance, and events & visitor center support as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned to help drive the company's vision, fulfill its mission and objectives, and abide by its values.
