About The Position

The Early Head Start (EHS) Home Visiting Supervisor provides leadership, oversight, and direct supervision for Rock and Walworth Early Head Start Home-based education services. The position ensures that pregnant women and children from birth to age 3 receive individualized, developmentally appropriate experiences and support that align with federal Head Start Program Performance Standards and community needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field that includes coursework with an early childhood focus, specifically including infant–toddler development. Transcripts are required to validate educational requirements.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computer, keyboard, copier, fax machine, and printer.
  • Experience leading individuals or teams to achieve results.

Nice To Haves

  • Three to five years’ experience providing home visiting, education, or related family services.
  • At least one year of direct supervisory experience.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 6-10 Home Visitors with regular coaching, annual evaluations, and individualized professional development plans.
  • Ensure staff have the tools, training, and support needed to provide high-quality services.
  • Assist with onboarding of new staff in alignment with the agency’s onboarding plan, ensuring all implementation tools, resources, and expectations are clearly introduced.
  • Support staff in collaborating effectively with the Mental Health Consultant, EHS Instructional Coach and other contracted support services to strengthen practice and service quality.
  • Provide guidance to Home Visitors on individualizing services for children and families, ensuring alignment with developmental needs, family goals, and community resources.
  • Support Home Visitors in completing accurate, timely documentation and maintaining required records to meet compliance and quality standards.
  • Assist Home Visitors in responding to challenging situations, including child behaviors and unsafe home visiting environments, ensuring safety protocols and support systems are followed.
  • Conduct observations of staff during home visits and playgroups to promote staff development, reflective practice, and consistent delivery of high-quality services.
  • Provide reflective supervision through both one-on-one and group formats to support staff growth, emotional well-being, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in and support the development and implementation of agency meetings and trainings involving EHS Home Visitors.
  • Support Home Visitors in planning and facilitating family engagement events, including playgroups, parent meetings, and family nights.
  • Guide Home Visitors in collecting, analyzing, and using data to inform practice and drive high-quality service delivery.
  • Complete required operational paperwork, including timesheets, Registry forms, and other assigned documentation.
  • Coordinate staff schedules and coverage to ensure consistent program operations and uninterrupted services to families.
  • Support home visitors with the bi-monthly operation of playgroups.
  • Participate in evening and weekend activities as required by program needs.
  • Promote and uphold a culture of safety.
  • Support recruitment and enrollment efforts to maintain full program enrollment and reach eligible families.
  • Attend management meetings, including operations and safety meetings, to support program coordination and communication.
  • Communicate budget needs and resource requirements to the Early Head Start Child Development Manager.
  • Sub in classroom per on-call list/schedule.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop, revise, and strengthen policies and systems that ensure high-quality home visiting services.
  • Work with the EHS Child Development Manager to develop and refine orientation, onboarding, group and individualized training plans.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining ongoing monitoring strategies and tools; complete monitoring tasks including documentation and follow-up.
  • Partner with the EHS Child Development Manager and Instructional Coach to prioritize and coordinate supportive opportunities for Home Visitors, including coaching, training, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with the EHS Child Development Manager and other professionals to plan and facilitate training for home visitors.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with community partners across the counties being served to support coordinated services, resource sharing, and comprehensive support for families.
  • Assist in developing home visiting–related Memoranda of Understanding and contracts as needed to support coordinated community services.
  • Represent the agency on relevant community committees, as requested.
  • Contribute to agency newsletters, reports, audits and reviews, as requested.
  • Assist in grant development and/or program growth strategies, as assigned.
