About The Position
The Home Sleep Studies Tech safely operates sophisticated medical equipment to record sleep/wake physiology and performs diagnostic and therapeutic polysomnography according to physician orders and organizational policies and procedures. This technical role functions independently with limited supervision and requires extensive knowledge and advanced expertise in sleep disorders. The technician applies sound clinical judgment and decision-making when responding to unusual patient behavior, including seizure activity and life-threatening cardiac or respiratory abnormalities.
Requirements
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist™ (RPSGT) certification.
- Current BLS certification.
- One year of HSAT and scoring experience.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate medical equipment used to record sleep/wake physiology.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic polysomnography in accordance with physician orders and organizational policies and procedures.
- Use clinical judgment and make decisions regarding unusual patient behavior, including seizure activity and life-threatening cardiac and respiratory abnormalities.
