About The Position
Mr. Handyman is seeking skilled craftsman to join their growing team of handyman professionals. This role focuses on roofing, siding, window, and door repairs for home and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in at least three of the listed home repair skills and be able to provide excellent customer service. The company provides a back office that handles customer calls and scheduling, a company van, and technology support.
Requirements
- Live within the area
- 5+ years’ experience as a paid handyman
- Own your own tools
- Be insurable for driving our vehicle
- Complete a background and driving record check
- Able to lift 50 pounds independently
- Able to safely work at heights and work overhead for extended periods of time
- Professional appearance and maintenance of company-provided vehicle
- Strong proficiency in at least three of the following: Carpentry work, Bathroom improvements, Kitchen improvements, Painting (inside and out), Drywall work (minor and major repairs), General plumbing and electrical (where allowed by law), Floor installation and refurbishing.
- Familiar with building codes
- Self-management skills
- Ability to speak with customers and provide excellent customer service
- Ability to ask for reviews and collect payments
- Ability to document the job while following the 'Mr. Handyman Way' process
- Ability to wear proper PPE and booties to protect customer homes
Responsibilities
- Completing small to medium maintenance and repairs for home and commercial projects, with project lengths ranging from two hours to two days.
- Communicating with customers to explain necessary repairs, manage expectations about the scope of work and costs.
- Delivering a great customer experience to foster repeat business, following the 'Mr. Handyman Way' process.
- Encouraging customers to complete satisfaction surveys.
- Finding additional ways to be of service to the customer.
- Invoicing appropriately, sourcing needed materials, and collecting payment from the customer.
- Ensuring work is done correctly the first time to meet a one-year guarantee.
