Metal Roofing and Siding Estimator
About The Position
Taylor Metal Products is seeking a detail-oriented Metal Roofing Estimator to use AppliCad Roof Wizard Software to convert architectural drawings and site data into accurate 3D roof models. The estimator will generate precise material and flashing lists to prepare high-quality customer estimates. Taylor Metal Products manufactures high-end steel roofing and siding products and has been in business for over 30 years. The position is full-time, based in Salem, Oregon, with a day shift and an hourly pay range of $23.00–$27.00. Candidates must pass a background check and drug screening for safety-sensitive positions.
Requirements
- Knowledge of commercial and steel building construction.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Competency in Excel, Word, and other software applications.
- Critical-thinking skills and ability to perform self-directed work.
- Strong math skills, including trigonometry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive attitude and understanding of teamwork and outstanding customer service.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening for safety-sensitive positions.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to read structural construction drawings.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed 3D roof models using AppliCad Roof Wizard from PDF blueprints, DWG files, or aerial images.
- Conduct material takeoffs for metal panels, accessories, and underlayment to improve accuracy and reduce waste.
- Simulate installation in the software to create panel cutting lists and optimize material usage.
- Coordinate with sales teams, project managers, and clients to verify project details and clarify specifications.
