We're looking for a versatile team member to fill a new hybrid role that blends front-office support with hands-on patient care. In this position, you'll primarily staff the front desk as our home health office receptionist, while also serving as a certified CNA available to complete field visits as patient care needs arise (field visits are typically completed within 45 minutes to a maximum of 1 hour.) Requirements

  • Certified CNA
  • Ability to complete field visits within 45 minutes to a maximum of 1 hour
  • Proficiency in conducting oneself in a professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to serve as a receptionist and control access to the reception area
  • Skill in answering the telephone and receiving messages pleasantly and professionally
  • Ability to receive and submit faxed information
  • Understanding of and adherence to confidentiality of all Protected Health Information
  • Ability to ensure faxed information is submitted to the appropriate person
  • Capability to assist in the production and completion of requested documents, including plans of care
  • Attention to detail to ensure all documents are grammatically correct and properly spelled
  • Ability to ensure all office equipment is working and properly maintained
  • Proficiency in checking patient eligibility
  • Skill in entering patient data
  • Ability to schedule visits
  • Capability to prepare invoices for payroll
  • Ability to gather needed information for private billing and fax it to billing
  • Skill in coordinating with private insurance companies for authorization
  • Ability to check HMO status on the first of each month for all patients
  • Proficiency in adding new physician information into the system after collecting NPI and other required information
  • Ability to perform miscellaneous office tasks such as faxing, copying, answering phones, maintaining Excel spreadsheets, drafting memos, and other duties as assigned
  • Ability to provide safe and effective care to the sick and elderly
  • Skill in taking accurate temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
  • Ability to perform simple procedures as an extension of the therapy service, as directed
  • Adherence to Universal Precautions and handwashing before and after each patient visit
  • Ability to complete all work assignments and turn in notes as required by Agency policy
  • Understanding and adherence to established Agency policies and procedures
  • Ability to adhere to Agency standards and consistently interpret and accurately perform assigned responsibilities
  • Ability to maintain acceptable attendance
  • Willingness to report incomplete work assignments to the RN
  • Ability to maintain a clean, well-groomed appearance
  • Demonstrated effective time management through daily documentation
  • Willingness to attend position-related in-services, case conferences, and staff meetings
  • Willingness to attend all mandatory in-service programs as scheduled
  • Commitment to completing a minimum of 12 hours of in-service training per calendar year
  • Ability to maintain a clean and neat work environment
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and decision-making
  • Ability to coordinate care with the RN and report changes in patient condition
  • Willingness to participate in the Agency's QAPI meetings

Responsibilities

  • Conducts self in a professional and courteous manner
