About The Position

Amedisys is hiring a full-time Home Health Licensed Practical Nurse for weekday work in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach territory. The nurse provides care to patients in their homes, coordinating with registered nurses and physicians to support patient needs and recovery. The pay range is $30.00 to $35.00 per hour. Benefit eligibility may vary by position and shift status; some listed benefits require enrollment in an Amedisys medical plan.

Requirements

• At least one year of clinical LPN experience.
• Current LPN license specific to the state(s) assigned for work.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Verify the plan of care with the RN before each visit.
• Collaborate frequently with physicians and RNs to ensure patient needs are met, and notify them as soon as possible when a patient's condition changes.
• Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques.
• Check vital signs.
• Review medications and perform medication reconciliation at each visit.
• Perform specialized procedures ordered by a physician, such as Foley catheter changes.
• Prepare equipment and materials for treatments using aseptic technique.
• Complete documentation accurately and on time.
