About The Position

The Home Health Caregiver supports people with developmental goals and complex needs, helping them grow, learn, and live well. The role involves building meaningful relationships, encouraging community participation and favorite activities, and assisting with personal hygiene. Caregivers may support individuals with behavioral challenges. The position is PRN/relief in Akron, with varying Saturday or Sunday hours between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., and pays $17.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license held for at least one year after the permit period.
• Clean motor vehicle record that meets Sevita’s insurability policy.
• Personal vehicle; access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance.
• Communication, adaptability, multitasking, teamwork, and time-management skills.
• Patient, compassionate, reliable, and responsible demeanor.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help participants grow, learn, and live well.
• Develop meaningful relationships with the individuals served.
• Take initiative to help participants participate in the community and enjoy their favorite activities.
• Support participants with developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.
• Assist people with personal hygiene.
• Support individuals who may have behavioral challenges and other complex needs.
